Unlike traditional staking models, Berachain’s PoL ensures that network validators, like Blockscape, are incentivized through governance tokens (BGT), which are earned by providing liquidity on Berachain.

BGT (Berachain Governance Token) is the backbone of Berachain’s economic model. It plays a crucial role in governance and rewards distribution. However, it’s not transferable — you earn BGT by providing liquidity and can only use it for staking and governance decisions.

Why Should You Boost an Operator?
Unlike traditional Proof-of-Stake (PoS) systems, $BERA cannot be staked by normal users — only validators can stake $BERA to become eligible for block production. When a validator produces a block, they earn 0.5 BGT per block as a base reward. However, their potential rewards don’t stop there.
Validators have the power to distribute additional BGT to specific liquidity pools on Berachain’s native decentralized exchange (DEX). Users can provide liquidity to these pools, stake into Reward Vaults, and earn the BGT distributed by validators.
By delegating BGT to a validator, you help them become boosted, meaning they can emit higher rewards to liquidity providers. The more BGT a validator has delegated to them compared to other validators, the higher their emissions to liquidity pools.
Additionally, some projects may choose to offer incentives to their liquidity pools. If accepted by the governance system, these incentives go to validators, and we at Blockscape WILL share them with people who delegate BGT to us. This dynamic creates a powerful incentive loop where users benefit by staking and delegating their BGT strategically.

How to Stake BGT with Blockscape: Step-by-Step Guide
- Connect Your Wallet — click “Connect Wallet” and choose your preferred option. Use a Berachain-compatible wallet like MetaMask or Rabby. Ensure you’ve added Berachain as a network.
- Earn BGT: you can’t buy BGT! Instead, earn it by providing liquidity on Berachain’s decentralized exchange, BeraSwap (BEX). This means depositing assets into liquidity pools and receiving BGT as a reward.
- Stake into a Vault: once you have deposited into a pool, stake your liquidity provider tokens into one of the available Reward Vaults to start earning BGT rewards.
- Go to BGT Station: navigate to Berachain’s BGT Station, the official staking platform. Choose Blockscape as Your Validator: in the list of validators, find Blockscape and select it.
- Delegate Your BGT : click on the “Delegate” button, enter the amount of BGT you want to stake, and confirm the transaction.
- Confirm Your Delegation: your delegation will enter a queue. After a short period, you’ll need to confirm the transaction again to finalize the process.
That’s it! Your BGT is now staked with Blockscape.
